An Unexpected Field

In today's oppressively early summer heat I took a long drive by the coast to clear my mind and maybe find an ocean breeze. It worked! I feel no less sticky, but my mind feels far more unstuck. And as I was driving, I found this sweet little field tucked in across from a grassy landing space for small aircraft.

I thought the images were so intriguing.

Here I was expecting sand and beaches and shops, and all the trinket stands that go with the strips along the water and instead I found places to land and places that were cultivated.

  • As each new day dawns, look for the unexpected:

  • What empty spaces in your life need seeds of joy and peace?

  • How will you find a way to slow down so you can sow peace and joy?

  • Where are you landing right now? In your thoughts, in your relationships?

  • Have you cleared the "landing field" of your heart and mind?

  • Sit quietly and breathe deeply to rid your heart of hurry, worry and distractions.

  • Then, you become a safe landing space for your own self and for others!

Ask the One who knows you well to guide your feet and clear your landing space!

"Because of the tender mercy of our God, He sent One to guide our feet into the path of peace."

~Luke 1:78, 79
